    • PROCESS CONTROL SOFTWARE : TATA Steel : Online computer control of hot strip mill. Online tracking of slab and coil, mill pacing and finishing mill adaptation was developed and integrated with automation system. Bokaro Steel Limited: Soaking pit, sinter plant & SMS computerization These process control systems include process models development and integration with instrumentation & Control system. Bokaro Steel Limited: SMS Scheduling &Tracking System. Production Scheduling system including mould tracking, lab management, heat logging and ladle tracking. Rourkela Steel Plant: Raw Material Handling System Computerization. Route selection, sinter mix based blending calculation, sampling and sample analysis, pile formation and analysis prediction & integration with plant PLC's were done BUSINESS & OTHER SOFTWARE : Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission: Regulatory Information Management System. The major modules included tariff, Engineering, Customer Complaint, Legal, HR and Financial system developed in Oracle RDB. AG's offices of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Orissa & Kerala: Voucher Level Computerization The system includes Treasury Accounting, Forest and Public works accounting, Loan, Long term advances, Deposit, Finance & Appropriation Accounts. This is a large application in ORACLE RDB. Industrial infrastructure Development Corporation of Orissa (IIDCO) The major application includes Inventory, Financial accounting, Payroll & Estate, etc. SOFTWARE PACKAGES : MECON's software packages have been developed using client server technology and industry standard Graphical User Interface (GUI). All products are menu-driven having detailed and context sensitive help, extensive documentation and built-in system controls ensuring data integrity and multiple levels of security. The products are based on the open system concept and can be ported to wide variety of operating systems and RDBMS. IMS-2000 (Inspection Management System) An excellent software package ideally suited to refineries, petrochemicals, fertilizer plants, power plants and other process industries. The package facilitates scheduling, audio-visual inspection data capture, ready access to data card, maintenance of equipment history and museum, line isometry in Auto CAD and automatic Red Alert for critical equipment etc. In-built predictive calculation avoid inconvenience of emergency material procurement. This package is successfully running at IOCL's refineries at Mathura, Haldia, Barauni and Panipat and at Madras Refineries Limited, Chennai. PRIMS-2000 (Power Regulatory Information Management System) The package comprehensively covers the requirements of Electricity Regulatory Commissions in India and has features like performance monitoring of licensees, power purchase agreement, financial account statements, financial analysis, tariff revision, handling of consumer complaints and legal cases, etc. IDDBMS (Instrumentation Drawings & Database Management System) This software is used for maintaining and storing all types of drawings (Including loop diagrams, loop schematics, installation diagrams, ladder diagrams, P&I diagrams, interlock schemes, vendor drawings, and sketches etc) and documents. It is also used for automating the maintenance monitoring activities. This system is successfully working in IOCL, Mathura Refinery.

      ENGINEERING PACKAGES : Computer Aided Design- Cable Engineering : This system is the first of its kind developed in India. It selects the shortest path available for cables passing through a raceway network. The cables are laid optimally in the raceways and the cables which are passing through over-loaded raceways are re-routed. It generates cable schedules giving cable route & cable specifications, raceway schedules giving distribution of cables in the trays & percentage loading of the trays and cable & try material summaries. The output reports are useful tools for cable laying, ordering, maintenance and future expansion of the plant. Power Network System : The Power Flow Analysis package calculates the optimal settings of the reactive power sources in a given network to minimize the losses. The Fault Analysis package does symmetrical and asymmetrical fault analysis and gives out the fault voltages and fault currents. The Extended Transient Stability Analysis package can be used to check system's stability in case of large repetitive varying loads such as rolling mills loads in a steel plant. Integrated Piping Engineering System: The package interactively draws  the piping isometrics, produces bill of materials and does the flexibility analysis of the piping system. The flexibility analysis handles thermal expansion, cold pull, internal pressure and self-weight. The output gives forces, moments, stresses, rotations and displacements at all junctions. The design modifications can be done interactively on a graphic terminal until the designer is satisfied with his design. Geo-statistical Analysis : This package is designed to meet the analytical and graphical needs for mineral/ore body deposits. Air Pollution Calculation : This package is based on Gaussian and Berlyand's models. It calculates the ground level concentration of a particular pollutant emitted from a number of sources at different points on a defined grid. The isopleths generated can be drawn on a plotter. Interactive Electrical Single Line Diagrams : This is a menu driven system for making standardized electrical single line diagrams from a graphics terminal. Duct Balancing for Ventilation System : This package carries out duct balancing for ventilation system based on duct resistance interactively in graphics mode. Underway Data Processing and Analysis for Ocean Beds : The National Institute of Oceanography, Goa have been undertaking a number of research activities in the Central Indian Ocean to collect bathymetric, magnetic intensity, navigational and various other data. This software package merges bathymetric, magnetic and navigational data and generates various reports and graphs for analysis. The reports and graphs generated by this software have been presented in international conferences and seminars. Drifting Buoy Data : The ocean environment data collected by drifting buoys were transmitted through the ARGOS satellites and recorded at ARGOS receiving station in France. This package analyses ocean surface data and generates various plots/graphs.
